Park Hyatt Beaver Creek unveils new bar, lobby renovation

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, located at the base of one of Colorado’s most celebrated mountain resorts, has completed a major lobby renovation. Designed by Dallas-based firm Premier Project Management, the new lobby is ready to welcome guests for the resort’s 30th anniversary, as well as the 2019-2020 ski season, which is about to kick into full gear.

“The lobby is the heart of any resort, and our renovation has created a space that is welcoming and communal – and shows off the spectacular views that Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is famous for,” said Park Hyatt Beaver Creek General Manager Herb Rackliff. “As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we want our property to reflect the social nature of today’s traveler. Our new lobby isn’t just a place to get through on your way in and out of the resort. It’s a place to relax, enjoy a cocktail and reflect on your Beaver Creek experience. “

One of the most notable aspects of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek lobby overhaul is the new Brass Bear Bar. Located at the center of the lobby, the bar takes full advantage of the beautiful surrounding views, creating a central gathering hub. Above the bar, there is a stunning lobby chandelier comprised of a large 10’ x 10’ canopy with twelve integrated downlights and 175 hanging pendants. Each pendant consists of 36 illuminated drops and 139 decorative glass elements, hung at different heights to create an organic light feature that evokes the feeling of falling ice crystals— a nod to the icy landscape of the surrounding snowy mountains.

Further features of the new lobby include:

  • A central, cantilevered live-edge wood bench that frames a honed-back granite fireplace. The sculptural, interactive installation features faux dancing flames emulated by LED lights and water vapor.
  • A relocated reception desk for a more intimate check-in experience, where visitors can now sit at the desk while they speak with hotel staff. Behind the front desk, there is a dramatic, sculptural metal screen composed of bronze, metal, glass, and wood logs. This screen opens the entryway to views of the spaces beyond the check-in area, enticing new arrivals with the stunning new Brass Bear Bar that sits within.
  • A modernized fireplace large slabs of polished marble with large satin brass reveals for sophisticated materiality. An additional fireplace was added, for a total of two flanking modern fireplaces that together evoke a sense of warmth and community.

The new lobby isn’t the only way Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa is celebrating its 30thanniversary. The property is offering an exclusive $30,000 package for two that will highlight the best of both the property and the destination. The package includes:

  • Three nights in the property’s Rial Oxford Suite

  • One day of backcountry cat skiing with Vail Powder Guides
