Eagle County commissioners adopt changes to land use regs

The Eagle County Board of Commissioners has adopted updates to the county’s land use regulations.

As approved, the changes address improving internal processes while clarifying expectations for customers; balancing public input procedures by increasing public notice; and bringing regulations into conformance with updated state and federal requirements.

The updates are available for review at www.eaglecounty.us/Planning/Active_Land_Use_Applications.

The process included six public meetings, including two each with the Eagle County and Roaring Fork Valley Regional planning commissions, as well as two Board of County Commissioner meetings. All sessions included the opportunity for public comment, and are available for on demand viewing at www.ecgtv.com

A full land use regulation rewrite will begin soon. The focus will be to make the county’s regulations easier to understand; to incorporate best-practices for protecting the natural environment; and to incentivize important development opportunities for affordable housing, public health and mobility for residents.
