GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — Kaiser Permanente last week announced that it has signed an agreement with Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs as part of the health plan’s expansion into Colorado’s mountain communities.

Valley View provides convenient, accessible care in Eagle and Garfield counties, including Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt, Willits and Eagle. Its diverse team of 65 physicians and 33 physician extenders are committed to the care and well-being of their patients.

“We are committed to providing our members in the mountain communities with choice and options,” said Brent Bowman, executive director of Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s mountain service area. “Securing a regional hospital partner like Valley View ensures that Kaiser Permanente members will have access to local inpatient care. We look forward to working together to bring top-notch, affordable care to our members.”

Founded in 1955, Valley View is the community provider for the residents and visitors of western Eagle and Garfield counties. It encompasses a broad spectrum of services including comprehensive cancer care, an interventional cardiology center and neurosurgical and orthopedics care. Valley View’s overall safety and care delivery has received national recognitions. It was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health AnalyticsTM in 2014 as well as by the Joint Commission as Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® for several consecutive years.

“Valley View has listened to the community and, in response, is pleased that another insurance option will soon be available to the communities that we serve. We are committed to working with Kaiser Permanente and furthering the Triple Aim which strives to enhance the health of our community, improve patient experience and reduce the cost of health care,” said Stacey Gavrell, Chief Community Relations Officer of Valley View.

About Kaiser Permanente’s Mountain Expansion
Kaiser Permanente’s hospital agreement with Valley View enhances its growing mountain service area. On January 4, 2016, Kaiser Permanente will open two medical offices in Edwards and Frisco. Both medical offices will offer primary care, laboratory and routine medical imaging services under one roof. Additional services will be available through Kaiser Permanente’s network of affiliated providers in the mountain communities.

The Kaiser Permanente Edwards medical offices are located at 56 Edwards Village Blvd. and the Frisco medical offices at 226 Lusher Ct., just off I-70 and Route 9 in the Basecamp retail center. Two board certified primary care physicians and licensed practical nurses have been hired to see patients at these medical offices and select specialty services will be available from Kaiser Permanente providers on a rotating basis. Additional staff and physicians will be hired in the coming months.

In addition to in-person visits, Kaiser Permanente members can schedule appointments, refill prescriptions and email their physicians and care teams using convenient online tools. Members in the mountain communities will also be able to schedule “video visits” with a provider from home through a secure web based program.

Kaiser Permanente will initially offer commercial coverage plans to employers and individual and family plans and Medicaid in Summit and Eagle counties. Additional plans and options will be added in 2017 and beyond.

Kaiser Permanente offers a wide variety of plans to meet your budget. If you are interested in learning more about Kaiser Permanente plans, please call 1-844-837-6884 or visit Connect for Health Colorado’s website, connectforhealthco.com.
