town of vail logoEntertainment will include Vail’s celebrated 4th of July parade this year with the theme of “Celebrate the USA! Great Moments in American History”, a traditional fireworks display planned in Vail from Golden Peak (conditions permitting) at dusk, live musical entertainment throughout the weekend featuring family music, jazz, and the annual Patriotic Concert from Bravo! Vail with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as always complemented by all that Vail summer has to offer on and off the mountain.

The “Celebrate the USA! Great Moments in American History” themed parade will begin at Golden Peak at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 and will wind its way through the villages, ending in Lionshead. Vail’s parade is one of the most popular events during the Independence Day holiday, attracting thousands of spectators. The Town of Vail is pleased to announce Pepi and Sheika Gramshammer as the Parade Marshals for 2015. The Austrian-born hosts of Hotel Gasthof Gramshammer have operated their Authentic European Inn since 1964 and have been a huge part of the Vail community ever since. Pepi came to Vail as an internationally known ski racer. Sheika is the descendent of an old Austrian inkeeping family. Their colorful personalities and backgrounds touch each guest, enriching his or her experience of Vail. With their hotel located in the heart of Vail Village, the Gramshammer balcony has become the best seat in town to experience the sights and sounds of the parade which has been enjoyed by friends, family members and numerous dignitaries over the decades..

In addition to the variety of other events taking place as part of the holiday weekend, at 2 p.m. on the 4th of July, the annual patriotic concert performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, presented by Bravo! Vail and the Vail Valley Foundation, will take place at the Ford Amphitheater.  All pavilion tickets will go on sale Wednesday, July 1 at 8 a.m. Each purchaser is limited to four tickets at $20 per ticket and will be available only to walk up customers at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Box Office.

The celebration in Vail continues throughout the day and into the evening and will culminate with a fireworks show at Golden Peak on July 4th at dusk (conditions permitting). The fireworks will be synchronized to a powerful musical soundtrack and the show is suitable for all ages!  The Town of Vail asks that you join as stewards of the surrounding national forest. The use of all personal fireworks is prohibited.
