Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate (SSF), the premier real estate firm serving many of Colorado’s mountain resort communities for nearly 60 years, has grown again with the acquisition of Palladium Properties, a boutique and independent luxury property brokerage firm based in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.

The transaction will create a powerful real estate company with international resources and reach, yet locally owned and dedicated to the communities it serves. The new brokerage firm will retain the iconic, regionally and nationally recognized brand of Slifer Smith and Frampton Real Estate.

“The Roaring Fork Valley has been and continues to be a vibrant and integral part of Colorado’s Western Slope. This is an exciting day as we announce the joining of two of Colorado’s local and independent real estate companies” said John Pfeiffer, president and employing broker of SSF. “As the No. 1 real estate firm throughout Eagle and Summit counties, expanding to Aspen and the RFV just made natural sense.” Pfeiffer continues, “As members of the combined leadership team have worked together before, and given our extensive and honest discussions over many months, it was abundantly clear how similar we are in terms of culture, support and family – it only made sense to join forces and grow that family.”

The company will continue to be headquartered in Avon, Colorado with corporate offices in Aspen and Frisco, and will maintain a significant presence in mountain resort communities from Keystone to Aspen. With 27 offices, the company will host just over 200 brokers — 190 from SSF and 30 from Palladium — and serve Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone — and the communities in between.

Palladium Properties will assume the SSF name and brand. All office locations will remain open, and there will be no changes in the team. Krista Klees will continue as leader and run day-to-day operations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.

“We are a local, independently owned firm and will remain so; this is very important to me and the team. This partnership will allow us to continue to support the communities in which we live and call home,” said Klees. “We are thrilled to be a part of the joining of two iconic companies. When buyers look for homes, they look for community, and no one represents community better than Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate and this growing family of talented and dedicated people.”

Nearly 60 years after Vail’s first realtor, Rod Slifer, set up his brokerage on Bridge Street, SSF continues to execute a luxury real estate vision that prioritizes service, local expertise and careful stewardship of our mountain communities. Today, SSF has 55 brokers and five office locations in Summit County, and 135 brokers in 19 office locations in Eagle County. SSF has listed and sold more property than any other real estate firm in the valley and maintains the leading market share in most neighborhoods today. In 2018, SSF was the No. 1 real estate firm in the Vail Valley and Summit County, with nearly 2,000 transactions totaling $1.8 billion in sales volume.

Palladium, which was founded on over three decades of servicing the Roaring Fork Valley’s real estate market, is known for delivering an exceptional and customized real estate experience. The firm’s mission is to be trusted advisors for clients who love the area, want to become part of the community and partake in the incredible lifestyle. The firm currently has offices located in Aspen, Basalt and Glenwood Springs. Klees, who will be the Executive Vice President in Aspen and will be leading SSF into the future, has spent over 30 years helping people become part of the Roaring Fork Valley community. Her dedication to her clients and the community they call home has been built by a strong commitment to ethics and honesty in real estate.

Both firms are members of Luxury Portfolio International, an invite-only member organization that is backed by the experience of the most well-respected and well-known experts in luxury real estate markets worldwide encompassing 130,000 associates producing $254 billion in annual home sales in more than 70 countries. With more market-leading independent real estate brands than any network, members are recognized for their expertise and superior competence in both local and global markets.

A vital component within SSF and Palladium Properties’ core values is charitable giving throughout both Colorado’s beautiful mountain communities. Both firms support a broad range of nonprofit organizations that directly benefit the people and surroundings of the Vail, Breckenridge and Aspen. Says Klees, “These shared beliefs will enable us to continue growing a business that supports and promotes our communities as well as the people who are affiliated with the company.“

“Growth works when it’s the right partners; people who share our entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to bettering the communities we call home.” says Harry Frampton. “This is important to myself, Rod Slifer and Mark Smith. Palladium’s family-centric culture and dedication to the Roaring Fork Valley made this partnership an easy decision.”

The announcement was made Monday in front of the companies’ 220 brokers and staff. Pfeiffer and Klees spoke to staff.
