Town of Avon announces free Après Avon street fair, concert line-up for 2015 Worlds

The Town of Avon recently released the final details for Après Avon, a daily music and street fair held every afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting February 3 through 14, 2015. Avon’s Main Street Mall will be the site for live music, performance art, delicious food, craft brews and cocktails. The Special Guest tent will host renowned artists, authors, ski racing legends and Friday, February 6, an autograph signing with Olympic gold medalist and Vail Valley native, Mikaela Shiffrin. All Après Avon events are free and open to the public.

The video stadium at Après Avon will feature live stream or replays of the day’s ski races, along with special programming and vintage ski footage each day. Hot and cold breakfast items and drinks will also be available. The video stadium and breakfast service gets underway at 9 a.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m., a variety of warm and delicious soups, sandwiches, crepes and desserts will be available along with items for purchase from local vendors in the Après Shop winter market. Visitors to the market are eligible to win one of five 2015 Pin of the Day Collectors Sets, awarded at the completion of the series. Additionally, a limited number of each day’s unique 2015 Pins of the Day will be given away at each Après Avon event.

The Town of Avon is also hosting the daily Audi Driving Experience at Nottingham Park, just steps away from the Après Avon venue. Under the professional guidance of Audi instructors, drivers will participate in two unique drive activities to test their winter driving techniques.

Free busses between Vail, Beaver Creek and Avon will be running throughout the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships and skier and spectator race parking is available at the Rodeo Lot in East Avon. Limited parking for Après Avon is available on Lake Street, West Beaver Creek Boulevard and at the Avon Recreation Center.
