The Vail Nordic Center is now open for the season, offering 17 kilometers of Nordic trails and 10 kilometers of separate snowshoe trails. Season pass sales are underway with discounted pass prices through Nov. 30.
The Nordic Center retail shop is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is selling season passes and Nordic clothing, accessories and equipment. Pass prices are $80 for adults and $40 for students. “This is one of the best early season openings we’ve had in years,” said owner Mia Stockdale. “We’re excited to kick off the winter season with excellent early season conditions. There’s plenty of snow, so come out and join us.”
The annual Vail Nordic Center Ski Swap will take place from 9 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 as a fundraiser for the Vail Nordic Club.
The Vail Nordic Center is owned and operated by Stockdale and Shane Sluder. The Vail Recreation District maintains the trails.
