Vail’s winter parking program will again provide a mix of discounted pricing options for qualifying residents, employees and property owners within Vail and Eagle County, plus availability of free outlying parking for all users on a first-come, first-served basis.
Paid parking in the town’s Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures will coincide with the start of Vail Mountain’s 2013-14 ski and snowboard season which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22. Parking pass sales will begin on Nov. 4 and continue throughout the winter from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on the lower level of the Vail Municipal Building, 75 S Frontage Rd.
There are five discount pass types available with pricing as low as $150, plus an incremental rate structure for value cards. Rates are unchanged from the previous season. The discounts are good for Vail or Eagle County residents, employees, property owners or qualifying business license holders.
To promote shopping and dining, free parking for up to two hours as well as free parking after 3 p.m. will be offered daily in the parking structures.
In addition, more than 400 free outlying public parking spaces with connections to bus service will be available. This includes 50 spaces on the North Frontage Road across from the West Vail Mall which will be serviced by a newly-built bus shelter and sidewalk.
