The schedule was created to improve communication with interested parties and establish further predictability within the review process.

PEC Meeting Schedule

Oct. 13 – Response to questions raised by PEC and public input to date; presentation of parking, building/massing architecture, Meadow Drive/streetscape; employee housing; Middle Creek; procedural considerations (zoning, master plan land use designations), traffic/circulation.
Oct. 27 – Response to questions raised by PEC and public input to date; presentation of the helipad.
Nov. 14 – Upload final draft version of the master plan to the town’s website at vailgov.com for public review.
Nov. 24 – Applicant and staff provide final follow-up on master plan topics; request for PEC recommendation to Town Council regarding master plan application and land use plan amendment.

The master plan application was submitted to the town on Aug. 18 and is being initiated to address VVMC capacity issues, inefficiencies associated with the aging structures and to ensure the continued delivery of exceptional medical care in Vail. Notable improvements contained in the plan include increased parking, moving emergency traffic off West Meadow Drive to create a safer pedestrian environment, relocation of the helipad and enclosed loading and delivery facilities. PEC meetings are held at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays in the Vail Town Council Chambers and agendas are posted on the town’s website in advance of the meetings at vailgov.com. Written comments may be forwarded by emailing Community Development Director George Ruther at gruther@vailgov.com.

Upon adoption by the Town Council, the master plan will be used by the town as a guiding document in the development review process to evaluate applications for any future construction on the VVMC site.
