Lindsey Vonn is leaving Vail, selling her East Vail home and moving to New Jersey, as first speculated on RealVail.com and confirmed early Tuesday on People Magazine’s website.

Vonn – widely regarded as the greatest speed-event (downhill and super-G) female ski racer in the history of the World Cup – is listing her home for $6 million.

“She has actually purchased a home in New Jersey with her fiancé P.K. Subban, who plays for the New Jersey Devils,” a representative for Vonn told People. “Since she is now retired from professional skiing, she is spending more time there to be close to him while he is in season.”

People reports that Vonn’s East Vail residence was the Olympic downhill gold medalist’s first home – purchased back in 2015 – but that it’s time to move on to the next chapter of her life – something Vonn confirmed on Twitter.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do with my trophies… but it’s time for a new chapter,” Vonn tweeted Tuesday.

Vonn retired from racing after last season, citing numerous injuries. She holds the women’s record for most World Cup wins (82) and a total of three Olympic medals and eight World Championship medals – plus an American record four overall World Cup titles.

While the former Vail Resorts ambassador and sponsored athlete is heading out of town, she leaves a great racing legacy at her former club – Ski and Snowboard Club Vail – and a run named after her on the front side of Vail Mountain, Lindsey’s (formerly International).

Vonn, then Kildow, first moved to Vail as a young racer from Minnesota in the late 1990s. She married a former racer and coach, Thomas Vonn, but the couple later divorced.
